As I write this feature, I’m over 10,000 metres up in the sky, engaging in gruelling 30 hour-plus air trek across the world. It’s been three years since my last long haul flight, and like many have just started overseas travel again, embracing all its joys, and remembering its more challenging aspects. The glass of wine served onboard should be one of the pleasures, but so often disappoints. Why is that?
